Default 2019 Forester Touring - reset avg mpg

Just got 2019 Forester Touring last week. We also have a 2019 Ascent. In the Ascent, when I get gas and reset trip meter A, the average mpg resets for A. I've left trip meter B run and it shows the overall avg mpg.

On the Forester, when I got gas the other day, I did the reset on trip meter A and only the miles driven changed on A. The avg mpg did not change. So miles on A went to zero but the avg mpg stayed the same as on B.

Then the facial recognition only worked periodically, so I re-scanned. When I finished, the avg mpg also go reset - back to nothing, the same as when I reset the trip meter on the Ascent.

Any one else have this behavior?

I think it will be related to the driver profiles. I'm pretty sure it maintains the average gas mileage per user. So if the facial recognition did not recognize you, it might have reset the "Default" user stats instead. Have you paired your phone? I have found that when it detects my phone, it automatically selects my user profile.
