Question Software updates failed

Had the Forester Touring for about a month. Connected it to my home wi fi and did a software update when asked. Still getting an error that software update failed. Anothe issue is the radio presets disappearing and driver recognition works sporadically. All software related?

Probably. I've had mine since November and it says all my software is up to date. Radio presets keep disappearing on mine, too. pita

Default Software updated by dealer

Turns out my 3week old Forester did require a dealer software update for the media center. Tech service bulletin 15-236-18R updates to V 18.38.50.
Getting over being pissed off about the dealer selling me a car that required an update. As for the missing radio settings, I found that even the radio can be set to driver profiles. There is a default profile that I would recommend you put your settings into. You can also customize to driver preference by adding another profile.
Starting to like my first Subaru. Never had a car with such a steep learning curve before. I've read a 300+page car manual and another 200+ page manual for the media center.

Did you ever get this fixed? I have a 2019 Forester, tried a software update and it failed. Now all I get is a message that reads "Software update install failed. USB was unplugged. Please insert USB and retry. System off in xxx sec." and a big RETRY button. I plug the phone in. It connects (the cable works) since the phone shows it's charging. Same message regardless of cable.

Called the dealer and they told me to disconnect the battery and touch to the cable ends together for about 20 seconds (so any charges in capacitors have time to bleed off), then re-connect and try again. Did that. Same message!
