I have a 06/07 sti rear diffuser on my forester and due to the forester bumper coming down a little low, you can not see the diffuser. I know its not about the looks, but this not not race car, so lets get real. It is about the looks.

So i had a few ideas of how i could do this and this seemed the easiest way for Me and the tools I had (my buddys wood shop). I only bought the diffuser, I did not have to pay for any of the wood or glue, and I bought primer and plastidip.

I started with a piece of wood, and we cut it down to the correct width. Then figured out the design following the OEM Curves pretty well.

Some sanding and cutting and sanding finally brought them to the correct shape. Each one is almost identical besides the one closet to the exhaust.

We used some industrial strength glue and then screwed them from the bottom. They arent going anywhere. Very Sturdy to my surprise. I used a little bit of bondo on the one closest to the muffler fill in a gap from a previous cut.

I sprayed everything with automotive primer and laid the first coat of plastidip. Letting it dry and ill do another coat, then ill install and take more pics! This is with the first coat of plastidip still wet.

Looks to me like its going to come out pretty well.

done and installed.

i give it a 7 out of a 10.
you can still see the gain through the plastic dip from some angles and they are not perfectly straight. But it does look pretty mean.
